Week 4

This week I had a newcomer. My office hours were the three hours immediately before their exam so I was expecting a lot more last minute questions but it was nice to see at least one student coming in and asking for help. The student was clearly well studied for the exam and had a good grasp on all the concepts but just wanted me to help him work through a question on the practice exam. I let him start by working it out on the board and whenever he would get stumped or took a wrong direction I would chime in with a question that would help lead him down the right path. It was very neat to see his wheels turning and eventually connect the dots on how to tackle the problem.
