The in-class lecture and problem solving this week went well, as many students were able to explain and perform simple vector addition and trigonometry when doing group work. Still, a few students struggled with one of the addition problems. To prepare for my first UTA office hours session, I prepared a list of important definitions (e.g. vector, scalar, magnitude) and selected several problems from the book to use for discussion. I was only able to hold a Friday session of office hours this week due to the Labor Day weekend. No students attended, most likely because the schedule for office hours had only been made available the day before. Students will probably start to attend next week after they have checked CourseWeb, or closer to the date of the first exam.
