The same couple of students continue to attend my office hours which is nice because I am starting to develop a relationship with them and its really cool to see their continuos understanding of the material. I hope they continue to come and I hope a few new faces stop by as well!

I agree, I have had the same set of students each week as well and its nice to become friendly/see what they struggle with and see them get better. A couple of new faces have been flitting in and out as well - often because they're stuck on just one problem. Its nice to see people putting so much effort in to the work!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I keep seeing the same few students each week as well mostly coming in with WebAssign questions. Once in a while a newcomer will come in with a concept question or so. I really want them all to succeed in this class.
ReplyDeleteCompletely with you, there is extra credit associated with coming to my hours during September. Those who visit twice get bonus points, yet I see people coming 3 or 4 or 5 times and it just makes it feel better that they actual are interested in the material and not the points.
