Ryan Tan Week 6

Ryan Tan
Physics 0175
Dytman TH 1100-1245

Professor Dytman covered RC circuits in class. In my office hours, the students asked about the equations for the charging and discharging of capacitors in an RC circuit, which of course involves differential equations. The students were all taking Calculus 2, so I did not want to solve the formula for a charging capacitor which is a first order linear differential equation. However they asked me to derive the formula for a discharging capacitor which is a separable differential equation and thus easier to explain to students who are not taking differential equations. We are now moving into magnetism.
